‘Is There A Next One?’ is the newest release from Tom Jenkins. It sees the singer-songwriter return to an intimate acoustic sound that nods to his life in rural Wales. The track, recorded in his sheep barn with a single microphone, allows his ethereal vocal to sit alone above a stark, acoustic guitar strumming pattern. It feels remote and airy, yet warm and melodic. Alongside the track, Jenkins has released a surprise album, Meadow Part 1. “Each song bears the raw emotions that can only be captured in this style of recording, and captures the ambiance of an old barn with the rain and wind hammering the structure,” he says. “‘Meadow’ is simply music captured in the moment and left in its original state.” The five-track is out now. -Dan Peeke
